Mission
Control infectious diseases of animals and zoonotic diseases (diseases which are transmissible from animals to humans).
Our Staff
U.S. Army Veterinary Corps personnel and civilian support personnel professionally staff the KVTF. The Army personnel are responsible for the care and treatment of the government owned animals assigned to KAFB and surrounding installations as well as sanitary inspections of military and commercial facilities in the KAFB area that provide food for the Armed Forces.
Registration of Pets
All pets residing in base housing must be registered with the Veterinary Treatment Facility within 10 days of arrival. Proof of rabies immunization is required of all cats and dogs over four months of age at the time of registration.
Services Offered Dogs and Cats:
- Vaccinations
- Heartworm testing and prevention (dogs)
- Leukemia tests (cats)
- Parasite control
- Zoonotic disease control
- Health certificates
- Microchip Identification - Limited Outpatient Treatment
HomeAgain Microchip ID - Only $25
A tiny, numbered computer chip is simply injected under the skin of your pet where it stays for the life of the animal. It is a safe and inexpensive way to protect your pet against loss or theft. Should your pet become lost or stolen, local Humane Societies have a device which reads all manufacturers’ microchips to check for pet ownership. If you’re interested in having your pet(s) receive the chip, please notify the staff when you make your next appointment.
