Geocaching Adventure
Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a
worldwide treasure (geocache) hunt game. A
geocacher can place a cache anywhere in the
world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology
and then share the cache’s existence
and location online at www.geocaching.com.
Anyone with a GPS device or smart phone
can try to locate the cache, log it into the
website, get a “smiley” for their effort and
have the satisfaction of finding it.
There are over 1,122,826 (yes, that’s million)
active caches to hunt for worldwide with over
500 in the Biloxi area alone. This is a great
hobby if you like the outdoors.
Our next adventures are 9 a.m. Sept. 18 and
Oct. 2. Cost is $10 per person, with a minimum
of four and maximum of six participants.
Transportation is included and we’ll
return around noon. We’ll show you how to
locate caches on the worldwide site, load
them into a GPS or your smart phone and
then go on the hunt. Call for more information. |
