Honor Guard Mission
The mission of the Keesler Air Force Base Honor Guard is to represent the Air Force by providing Military Honors at the request of the families for our fallen comrades. To provide Honors for an area that covers over 48,000 square miles, some 68 counties over the southern half of both Mississippi and Louisiana. Click here for a map that shows Keesler's AOR.
The Keesler Air Force Base Honor Guard is trained to provide Military Honors with precision, professionalism and pride, striving to exceed even our own rigorous Air Force Standards, while demonstrating the highest level of commitment while representing the United States Air Force and Keesler Air Force Base.
We provide Honors for other ceremonies attended by the general public such as Change of Command, retirements, and parades. |

Requesting Honor Guard for Off-Base Events
For all public events, send an official request to the Keesler Public Affairs Office at fax (228) 377-3940 or by e-mail http://81trw-pa1@keesler.af.mil. Public affairs will respond for more information, if needed.
If approved, Public Affairs will direct you to coordinate directly with the Keesler Honor Guard.
Guidelines:
1. Provide at least 30 days notice.
2. Please remember that the honor guard's primary function is to support funerals. Your request could be cancelled due to a sudden change in mission requirements.
3. Requests are balanced against several factors - does it support the Air Force, does it project the proper image, is it open to the public, how many people will attend. |

Special Events and Retirement Ceremonies
When not performing funeral honors, the Keesler Honor Guard Team is available to post colors or perform the flag folding ceremony for most special events and retirements. The flag folding ceremony can only be performed using the approved Air Force Script. To request or schedule Honor Guard participation, please email Keesler Public Affairs at 81TRW.PA@Keesler.af.mil. Your request should include the name, date and time of the event, point of contact, telephone numbers, and the service your would like provided. If you have any questions, please contact Public Affairs at (228) 377-7329 or the Keesler Honor Guard at (228) 377-1986.
